Our process

How a ClearCoast water consultation works

Five steps, in this order. The order matters: equipment is the fourth conversation, not the first.

01

Identify the water source and your goals

Utility supply or private well, which utility serves the address, the type of property, and what you actually want to change. Almost every later decision follows from this.

  • Confirm the serving utility, since boundaries do not follow city lines.
  • Note the symptoms and where in the property they appear.
  • Establish whether the goal is whole-property, drinking-water, scale protection, or a combination.
02

Review available information and appropriate testing

For a utility supply we start with the current annual water quality report. For a private well, accredited laboratory testing is the responsible starting point because no utility report exists.

  • Locate the current published report for the serving utility.
  • Identify which parameters actually influence equipment selection.
  • Recommend laboratory testing where the decision requires it, and say plainly when screening is not enough.
03

Compare suitable treatment options

We narrow to the options that fit the supply, the property and the goals — and we state each option's limitations rather than presenting a single recommendation as the only path.

  • Explain purpose, common applications and limits for each option.
  • Size to peak flow demand and occupancy.
  • Confirm feasibility: point-of-entry space, drain, power, cabinet space.
04

Confirm equipment, installation scope and pricing

Before anything is scheduled you receive the specific equipment, the installation scope and the price in writing, along with who performs the work and under what contracting arrangement.

  • Specific model, not a product category.
  • Plumbing, drain, electrical and permitting responsibilities.
  • No installation timing promised before scope and materials are confirmed.
05

Plan ongoing maintenance

Intervals depend on your water and usage, so the maintenance expectation is written for your system rather than quoted from a box.

  • Cartridge, media and membrane intervals for the installed equipment.
  • Salt or consumable expectations where applicable.
  • A record of installation and service dates for your files.

Being straight with you

What this process does not include

These are the promises other water companies make that we are not making.

Not part of a ClearCoast consultation

  • A promised installation date before scope, permitting and materials are confirmed.
  • A claim that licensed trade work is performed in-house, unless that arrangement is verified in writing.
  • A water safety verdict based on a demonstration or a handheld meter.
  • A price range invented for a website rather than set by the business.
  • Enrolment in marketing simply because you requested a consultation.

Let's find the right starting point for your water.

Tell us about the property and what you have noticed. We will confirm the water supply, explain what information is needed, and outline suitable options in writing.
