Water Testing and Water Quality Review
Testing exists to answer a practical question: what does this property's water require? We separate two things that are often blurred together — a basic in-home screening, which is a limited operational check, and accredited laboratory testing, which produces defensible results.
What this treatment does
- Reviews available information first, including the serving utility's most recent annual water quality report.
- Identifies which parameters actually influence equipment selection for your goals.
- Uses accredited laboratory testing where the decision requires it, particularly on private wells.
- Documents what was measured, when, and by whom.
What it does not do
- An in-home screening or a TDS meter reading is not a laboratory analysis and is not a safety assessment.
- A hardness or TDS number alone does not identify contaminants.
- Testing does not certify that water is safe or unsafe — it reports measured parameters at a point in time.
- We do not use a sales demonstration in place of testing.
Suitability
Who might consider it
Suitability depends on the property and the supply, not on a general recommendation.
Common situations
- Private well owners, where testing is the responsible starting point.
- Homeowners with an unexplained taste, odor, color or staining concern.
- Buyers who want water information before closing.
- Anyone who has been shown a dramatic in-home demonstration and wants real data.
Information needed before selecting equipment
- Whether the property is on a utility or a private well.
- Which utility serves the address, since reports are utility-specific.
- Observed symptoms, including where and when they appear.
- Any prior test results or existing equipment documentation.
What affects installation
- Sample collection method and location, which affect results.
- Chain-of-custody and turnaround times for laboratory work.
- Where screening is appropriate as a quick operational check.
- How results translate into equipment options and their limits.
Maintenance and ownership
- Re-testing after treatment is installed, to confirm the change.
- Periodic re-testing on wells, since source water can change.
- Keeping utility reports and lab results together for future decisions.
What affects cost
- Number and type of parameters analyzed.
- Laboratory versus screening scope.
- Whether bacteria testing is included.
- Repeat testing over time.
Pricing
How ClearCoast pricing works
We don't publish one-size prices because installed cost depends on your property, not on a product page. Every recommendation ends in a written quote you can review before anything is scheduled.
The cost factors for this service
- Number and type of parameters analyzed.
- Laboratory versus screening scope.
- Whether bacteria testing is included.
- Repeat testing over time.
How you get a real number
- You request a consultation and tell us the property type, water source and what prompted the enquiry.
- We confirm the serving utility for your address and review the available water quality information.
- We assess the installation conditions — point of entry, plumbing, space, drain and electrical — on site or from clear photos.
- You receive a written quote separating equipment, installation scope and expected maintenance, valid for a stated period.
- Nothing is scheduled until you approve the written quote; changes to scope are re-quoted, not assumed.
Your written quote lists the equipment, the installation scope, and the expected maintenance schedule separately, so you can compare it against any other proposal. If you would like to discuss payment options, mention it during your consultation and we will confirm what is currently available in writing. Read the installation cost guide for the full list of variables, or request your quote.
Equipment
HALO Water Systems — our main product line
ClearCoast's main product line is HALO whole-house water treatment equipment. HALO designs and manufactures its own valves, tanks and media for whole-home filtration, water softening and conditioning. Additional product lines are added as the catalogue is confirmed.
Model-specific performance and certification documentation is being collected. Until a model's data sheet is on file, we describe what a technology generally does rather than quote reduction figures, and we make no manufacturer authorization claim.
Questions
Water Testing questions
Do you offer free water testing?
No offer is published on this site. Any free-testing program would need its scope and eligibility approved and stated plainly before we advertise it.
Where can I find my utility's water quality report?
Utilities publish an annual water quality report (Consumer Confidence Report). We help you locate the current report for the utility serving your address.
Is a TDS meter useful?
It measures total dissolved solids, which is one parameter. It cannot identify specific contaminants and it is not a safety test.
What does a lab test cover?
That depends on the parameters selected. For a well, testing usually covers the parameters that drive treatment selection, plus bacteria where appropriate.
Let's find the right starting point for your water.
Tell us about the property and what you have noticed. We will confirm the water supply, explain what information is needed, and outline suitable options in writing.
